Bridal Shower: Kate W.

A few weeks ago, we had a bridal shower at work. Our Business Office Director, Kate is getting married this weekend. I have the priviledge of making the trip with them to Vegas in a few days!

We didn't have to wear butterfly wings for the bridal shower :) ....It was a decoration that everyone thought would be fun to wear for the pics.

Hey Everyone!

Peggy, Alicia, and I did an awesome movie/book road trip up the West Coast. We visited Seaside, Oregon; Astoria, Oregon; and finally Forks, Washington! Below are some pics from our trip.

Astoria, Oregon: "The Goonies"
This is where they filmed the amazing movie, "The Goonies". On our adventure, we decided to make quick stops at some of the famous sites.

Forks, Washington: "Twilight"

At the Forks visitor center, they had a huge world map where people have put pins from where they are from. Above is just a small portion of the map...see if you can find Sidney, OH.... :)

Yay! First Sidney person to visit Forks, Washington. By the way, people from as far as the Netherlands and Australia have visited Forks.

The sign below is actually by their emergency room entrance. Just a little side note...They have the smallest hospital I've ever seen.

Below are pictures of the Cullen's house and Bella's house. From what we found out at the visitor's center, the city of Forks picked out these houses to be the closest representation from the book.

Above is the Cullen's house. Below is a note from Esme that was posted on the front of the house. This is actually a B&B located in Forks.

Above is Bella's house...actually a private residence. Below is where we stayed while in Forks. It's called the Manitou Lodge B&B.

Meeting the locals at the Twilight Lounge!

It was karaoke night and my first time singing in front of people! It was the ideal first karaoke singing situation...10pm in Forks, Washington and only 8 other people in the room. By midnight there were like 30 people....it was hot place to be that night!

Alicia and I made friends pretty easily. Everyone in Forks is so nice!

This is the best road trip I've ever taken. It's also the dorkiest one. Alicia and I are always up for anything, and I'm really glad we got to do this together. I can't thank Momma Peg enough for putting up with our craziness and being okay with adding a road trip to their vacation.

Back in Portland...

We did the downtown walking tour and took the traditional Portland picture.

We did a little wine tasting in Dundee and Dayton, Oregon.

Lastly, we visited a few smaller waterfalls and ended with Multnomah Waterfall.

I am so happy Alicia and Peggy took time out of their busy schedules to come visit. They probably did the most sightseeing anyone has ever done in 5 days, and I hope they had a good time...I definitely did. :)

The Almost Dr. Abbe comes for a visit!

Hey Everyone,

I apologize for posting this without pictures. I will add pictures as soon as I can. For some reason my Sony camera software will not work on my mac. I might have to wait until next weekend to upload pictures. :)

Anywho...Last weekend, my good friend Abbe came all the way from Ohio to visit Tom and I. We were extremely happy to have her and show her all the wonders of Oregon.

Day 1.
Abbe and I went to happy hour at the fabulous Portland City Grill. We then headed to the square for her to take the honorary Portland statue picture, and lastly, we went to Powells book store.
Day 2
Abbe and I did a little wine tasting in Dundee, OR. We randomly ran into a few Ohio visitors, and we made friends with farmer Sam at Mareash Vineyards. Later that day we met up with Tom for some dinner, and a quick stop at Shane and Maria's for Maria's birthday party! Day 3
We rolled out of bed and headed to Beaterville for fabulous breakfast. Next, we went to the Columbia River Gorge for some hiking and waterfalls. It was a misty, overcast day, but it was still neat to see all the waterfalls. Later that day, Abbe and I said farewell to Tom as he went off to China for a couple of weeks. We finished the weekend hanging out, ordering take out, and watching a few good movies. :)

Day 4
Abbe and I said our goodbyes early in the morning. When I returned, I tried to do my chores Tom left for me to do. Well, actually, there was only one chore he wanted me to do...it was to mow the lawn. I have never mowed the lawn before ever...and I never want to again. I have to say, I did a really poor job. There are now stripes in our backyard.
Abbe, thanks for coming to visit. I know you've been super busy with Med School, and we really appreciate you taking the time to fly all the way over here. We loved having you here! The next time I see you, I'll finally be able to call you Dr. Craven! :)

Bri's Bridal Shower

Tom and I met Brianna and Justin at church. Since then we've had a few double dates with them, and I found out that she loves volleyball. Yay for me! She told me about a league that was starting up, and now, I play volleyball with her every Sunday. Brianna and Justin are very, very sweet, and Tom and I are pretty excited to go to their wedding in June. :)

Bri is on the left and Stacie is on the right. Stacie is on our volleyball team as well and hosted Bri's bridal shower.
Bri had to answer questions about her and Justin. If she got the answer right, she got to open a gift. If she got the answer wrong, she had to chew a piece of gum. We took pity on her when she went through a whole pack of gum. It just looked painful! Below is the picture of her wad. Ewww, I know!

Usually Five Guys Burgers and Fries makes me a happy girl, but since Tom left me all alone for a few weeks in December....dinnertime was very lonely... :(

This year Momma Payawal decided that a creepy Santa Claus that dances and sings songs would be a great addition to Christmas.


Rose Bowl 2010

Johanna, Tom, Matt and I were very lucky and got to go to the Rose Bowl. Thanks to Kyle, our seats were fantastic! :)

Kaitlyn and I like to kick back after a good meal.
