The groom's cake was a peanut butter and jelly cake...it was fantastic! The cake is baseball themed. Steve plays in a few different leagues in Columbus. :)

Amy and Steve's Rehearsal 10.2.2009
Sorry for the fuzzy pictures! These pics are from Amy and Steve's rehearsal dinner at Buccas and rehearsal at the church in dowtown Columbus. It was awesome to spend a little time with the bride and groom before the big day!

Carmen and Jim's Wedding 10.2.2009
Carmen and Jim had a photobooth at their wedding. One copy went to the guest book and the other was your party favor. What a great way to remember the wedding! :)

Last weekend, I had the honor of attending a few weddings in Ohio. Tom and I had a crazy week doing house stuff (I'll post about it later...), and it was nice to go back to Ohio and see some familiar faces. The first pic of Carmen and I was from her shower and the rest is from the wedding. She was married in a church in Upper Arlington and the reception was at the OSU golf course. :)
I didn't know until this weekend that there are things called Chicago style hotdogs and people love them. They are Jim's favorite and as a surprise Carmen got him a hotdog groom's cake. :)

HGTV and 10K
This past weekend Tom and I were suppose to have our first filming day with HGTV. However, they needed the camera crews to film other My First Place people around Portland receiving acceptances and giving offers on houses. We were going to film our "house hunting day", which means we were going to visit two houses and they would film us going through it and our comments. It is a lot easier to reschedule this day because they are still able to film our first reactions. Since acceptances and offers are time sensitive, they couldn't wait. We rescheduled to film the "house hunting day" for September 26. :)
Yesterday, Tom and I ran in Pints to Pasta. It is a 10k that starts at adidas, we pass Widmer Brewing Co, and then finish at the Old Spaghetti Factory. I was a little nervous because it was my first 10k, but it went pretty well. There were definitely more downhills and flat road, making the 10k pretty easy. Tom and I ran together, or rather, I was running, while Tom was jogging leisurely, taking pictures the whole way. I'm glad he stayed with me. I think a 10k can be a little lonely without anyone to chat to. Although, at mile 6 I was about to kill Tom when he took a picture of me... I was happy he went slow to kept me company. After this 10k, I planned to run in a half marathon at the end of October. However, I think I'll do a few more 10k runs before I tackle a half marathon. After this 10k, it opened my eyes that I need to work on my endurance and pacing a little more. :)

The Last of the Ohio Pics...Almost
The last night I was in Ohio, my in-laws made me a farewell dinner. It was absolutely ridunculous. They made homemade pizza for an appetizer, and parmesan chicken and eggplant for dinner. I was really happy to get to spend time with family.
I am still waiting on Carmen to send me a few pics of us from her bridal shower, but after I post and write about that that should be the last of the OH pics. My NEXT post, which I'm going to be working on right after I post this is, will be about this past weekend. :)

Next Post...
Hey Hey!
Sorry it's been a long time, but Tom and I have been super busy looking for a house in our free time...and with applying to jobs and Tom has fall reviews coming up...we've been really exhausted to do anything else. I have two more posts coming up from the Ohio Trip. I have some pics from Carmen's bridal shower and pics from dinner with the in-laws. After that, hopefully I'll have some new pictures of this weekend when we film with HGTV.
Some of you may not know, but Tom and I were casted to be on My First Place. (Yay! It's all thanks to Momma Peg's suggestion to apply) We are very excited to be apart of the show, but so far, looking at houses, figuring out our budget, and compromising between what Tom and I want in a house has been emotionally and physically exhausting. The show is filmed in a documentary style. They don't assist us with anything and just follow our house hunting story with a camera. Luckily, Tom and I have had the past three weeks to look at houses without a camera being there. It's been nice to see the different neighborhoods and narrowing down areas we like. Also, it's been very educational to see what can afford, which has led to Tom and I having many discussions on what we can live without. Obviously, this has been a little stressful....I'm glad we haven't filmed yet because I've already been pretty emotional during this process. I've cried from frustration...I've been crabby because there have been multiple times Tom and I haven't been on the same page. Hopefully, I've worked out all temper tantrums and water works out of my system. Tom and I are in a much better place now with knowing what we want and what's best for each other. I'm really glad we had this time to work out the kinks. Hopefully, it'll make us look like smart first time home buyers. I'd die if they would have gotten to film those moments...I really don't want them to make me look like I'm a crabby, crying baby. :)
Our first filming day for the show is on Saturday. I know, I know....OSU is playing USC. Hopefully, we'll be done by 5pm so we can watch the game somewhere. We're a little anxious for our first day of filming. Wish us luck!
